Getting the specification right before production would avoid costly changes later on. And once the quote was approved, we moved into manufacturing. Several products were customised for Alta specifically. Strip lighting was cut to the exact lengths required by the joinery profiles. Some fixtures were refinished in different colours to complement the beach-inspired palette.
Willemsen Architecture’s first development, Alta, required lighting to suit the design aesthetic. The apartment block carries a beach-inspired theme throughout its architecture and interiors. The team wanted long-lasting lighting that would highlight and enhance that theme rather than distract from it. The brief covered the complex, including: • Living spaces, bedrooms and hallways inside individual apartments • Kitchens and bathrooms • Balconies and outdoor • The pool and gardens
Each zone came with its own set of requirements. Kitchens needed a layered approach. Downlights would handle ambient light levels. And striplighting would deliver high-brightness direct light over benchtops and preparation zones. Bathrooms and balconies needed IP-rated luminaires that could handle water and salt air. The pool and garden areas needed fully weatherproof and submersible options. So the job called for a wide range of apartment lighting solutions, all working together across a single cohesive design.
Our production team configured and packed each product before dispatching to the site. Fitting out new or renovated apartment complexes is commonplace for Superlight.
